From Elisha Richards – Neogen works towards making food safer

I am doing my FSF  in a lateral flow lab, specifically working with the detection of antibiotics in milk.  The first couple of weeks were spent learning the basics of lateral flow technology and the chemistry involved in creating a system that will detect a substance (in this case, antibiotics) at a certain level in the milk.
The project that I am working on involves a system that is similar to the BetaStar system.  For more information on the BetaStar, you can visit this link:
The main role I play in the lab is to run tests to help determine if the experimental system is working appropriately in the detection of certain antibiotics in milk.  I am enjoying learning the processes involved in research and product development! Looking forward to hearing what other people are doing – Elisha Richards
